So who are you guys?

Who is PetBunny? We are the members of the electronic mailing list petbunny@lsv.uky.edu. We are owned by, slaves to, curious about, or just plain in love with house rabbits. We believe rabbits are sentient and intelligent pets who do best indoors with human and other animal companionship. To learn more about what we believe as a group, please read our Charter. If you think you would like to subscribe, it is strongly encouraged that you read the charter before subscribing. More than one person has been taken aback by the passionate nature of this group, and we think it is obvious from the charter what we're all about. :o)

What's the secret handshake?

To join the PetBunny mailing list, simply send a blank e-mail to listserv@lsv.uky.edu. Put nothing in the subject field. In the message body of the e-mail, write:

subscribe petbunny "your name"

In a few moments you will receive a confirmation message from the listserver. To send a message to PetBunny after you are subscribed, simply address your message to petbunny@lsv.uky.edu. **Please Note!** This sends your message to every single member of PetBunny, and archives your message in four different archive services forever! Please think twice before sending something rude, hurtful or angry, because the computers won't let you take it back!

Great! So who are you REALLY?

Now that we've got the technical definitions behind us, who are we, really? We are a group of roughly 600 people (give or take fifty or so) from all over the United States, Canada, and the world who love bunnies and crave a forum in which to share our bunny stories. We have bunnies and cats, bunnies and dogs, bunnies and birds, we have guinea pigs and rats, mice and chinchillas, some of us even have had iguanas and snakes! But our common thread is bunnies, and the absolute joy they bring to our lives. We discuss their favorite food, their favorite destruction activity, their illnesses, their health, their arrivals and their departures to great lengths. We laugh out loud in front of our computers and sometimes we sit with tears streaming down our cheeks in shared pain. Who are we really? We're an extended family brought together by our bunnies.



And you don't talk about anything but bunnies?

We talk about everything under the sun! Because somehow, everything under the sun comes back to how wonderful our bunnies are! We talk about our families and our lives, we talk about things happening in our cities and in other countries that have to do with bunnies. Every Christmas, we have a Bunny Christmas Card Swap, organized by JR, who also puts together our Easter Card Swap. MS and SS work hard to make our Secret Pal Rounds (open only to Petbunny members) fun for everyone who signs up. RKW organized a quilt block Round Robin for the crafts-minded among us, and the Bunderground Railroad is something every PBer dreams of taking part in someday. It's fun, it gets intense at times, and it's the hoppiest place in cyberspace. :o)
